For committed athletes (Birth Years 2009-2005) and families looking to approach their summer training intelligently and with purpose. This four day camp will help set the stage.

Join Coach Christian Valvano (Hockey Gainz), Montclair State University Ice Arena, and Parabolic Performance & Rehab for a four day, hockey-specific combine camp, testing and evaluating athletes both on and off the ice.  Athletes will gain an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, and most importantly, learn how to address them. Camp modeled off of the NHL, OHL, and WHL hockey combines.

Day 1, Baseline Testing and Evaluation
Off-Ice Tests to Evaluate:

-Explosive Power & Strength (Vertical Jump, Broad Jump, Seated Med Ball Toss)
-Endurance & Conditioning (60 sec. Push-Up Test)
-Multi-Directional Speed & Agility (Linear 40 yard sprint & T-Test)
-Injury Prevention (working with a PT on a single test that would identify any imbalances or red flag movement indicators. Potentially a drop test looking at the knees or a Y-Balance test)

Days 2-4, Performance Training and Skill Development

Off the ice, we will teach appropriate lifting techniques, as well as improve athletes fitness levels through performance training circuits.  Also, off the ice we will work shooting techniques that promote stable shooting on the ice.
On the ice, we will work skating technique, puck handling skills, as well as address proper shooting & passing methods.  In addition, athletes will be challenged with gameplay type drills and situations to help encourage hockey IQ.
